New Beginnings to Launch Innovative Technology for Trauma Treatment New Beginnings receives a grant for $22,354.00 from the Kentucky Colonels which enables them to purchase neurofeedback machines to use in customized treatment plans with clients.

New Beginnings Sexual Assault Support Services was honored to be a recipient of the 2022 Kentucky Colonels Grant which will lead to the purchase of NeurOptimal Advanced Brain Training System machines for use in office locations. Healing from trauma requires healing both the brain and the body. NeurOptimal neurofeedback training allows users to unconsciously self-regulate brain activity in real time using electroencephalography (EEG) monitoring and feedback.

The New Beginnings clinical team utilizes many modalities and treatment approaches in therapy including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), mindfulness, therapeutic practices viewed through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, Adult Chair and self-compassionate techniques. Integrating neurofeedback helps embody a full mind/body approach and can help decrease symptoms related to post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma exposure.
